  Useful information
  • All our properties are privately owned and not purpose built holiday homes. The owners use them from time to time and the contents reflect the charm of the properties and the personality of the owners. We would ask our customers to respect this and treat the properties with the same care and respect they would their own homes.


  • Please note that none of our properties are purpose built for disabled customers, but some may be more suitable than others.


  • Equipment-all properties conform to and in most cases comfortably exceed the minimum standards laid down by the English Tourist Board which include:-colour television, cooker, toaster, kettle, full compliment of china, glass, cutlery, cookware and kitchen utensils. Further appliances are as detailed in the individual property descriptions.


  • Bedding-is as described in the individual property descrptions and duvets and pillows are provided in all properties.


  • Linen-is not provided other than in a few properties as indicated in the individual property descriptions. Please bring towels, tea towels, pillow cases, sheets and duvet covers. Please also bring waterproof protective covers for mattresses should these be required by any member of your party.


  • Cots and high chairs-available in limited numbers from Portscatho Holidays @ £10 per item per week plus vat


  • Pets-are only accepted when clearly stated in the property details. Please bring bedding, bowls etc and do not allow your pets in any bedrooms or on any furniture. Pets must not be left unaccompanied in any property and must be under control at all times. Please note that Carrick Council has now banned dogs from Easter to the end of October on all St Mawes beaches and from the harbour beach at Portscatho.


  • Parking-if the property of your choice does not have parking attached the following information will be useful to you. Parking restrictions are enforced on parts of the Roseland Peninsula from 31st March to 31st October between 10am and 6pm.
    St Mawes: has two car parks which can be paid for on a weekley basis. Most of our "St Mawes" properties are within walking distance of these car parks. Weekley rates range from £16.00 per week for the council car park and £35.00 for the Quay car park. (These rates are only a guide and may change)

  • Portscatho: has a car park on Gerrans Hill which is paid for via an honesty box and also at Porthcurnick beach which is pay & display. There is some limited parking in the village square, again most of our properties are within walking distance of these car parks. Should you have any special requirements please discuss with us when booking.

  • Office Hours-the best times to be assured of a personal answer to your enquiry on 01326 270900 are between 8am and 5pm Monday to Saturday. If you encounter our answering machine please leave a message. We listen to the machine frequently and will return your call without delay


  • Cheques-made payable to "Portscatho Holidays Ltd should be posted to 4 The Quay, St Mawes, Truro, Cornwall.TR2 5DG.
    Please write on the reverse of the cheque the name of the property and the dates you wish to be reserved.


  • Local services-include catering, sailing/wind surfing/powerboat hire and tuition,baby sitting. Please see our "links" page.


  • Ferries-weather and tides permitting:- St Mawes to Falmouth, St Mawes to Place, St Mawes to Truro, King Harry chain ferry between the Roseland Peninsala and Truro/Falmouth
