Main navigation

Roses Cottage is a traditional, cob built, Cornish cottage that has been thoughtfully improved and enlarged to create a spacious and well equipped holiday home. Situated on a privately owned "no through road", both the main square and the beach with picturesque harbour can be reached in less than two minutes walk.

The village is well served with butchers, post office, convenience store with bakery attached, several gift shops, restaurant and highly reputed art gallery. The South West coast path runs through the village and gives easy access to miles of beautiful coastline.

From the roadside (with parking for three cars) a wooden gate takes you to a sheltered, decked area and a raised gravelled terrace with garden furniture and barbecue, and a useful storeroom for storing beach gear.

The front door leads into the hall off which is a ground floor shower room with WC, and a utility room with sink, washing machine and a drying area with oil fired boiler.

The spacious and well lit kitchen is well equipped with a good range of cupboards and wall units, electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge freezer. The kitchen and adjoining dining area have attractive natural slate floors and incorporate a conservatory with french doors leading back out to the decked area.

The delightfully furnished lounge has a stone fireplace with electric log burner, TV and DVD.

Stairs from the lounge lead to the first floor with two double bedrooms, one having a four poster bed, and a third bedroom which has purpose built beds offering three single beds or a double and one single. Two of the bedrooms have sea views across Gerrans bay. The stylish family bathroom has a roll top bath with WC, wash hand basin and a large separate shower.

The situation of Roses Cottage in Portscatho, and the nearby facilities, make this an ideal holiday home for any time of the year.
