Portscatho Property Search

The village of Portscatho is a traditional Cornish village located in an easterly facing cove giving it relative shelter from the bulk of the south westerley winds that blow through the region.

Portscatho is an active fishing village and its harbour always has an interesting activity to watch. The shelter provided by the cove allows for safe swimming. The neighbouring village of Gerrans lies directly above Portscatho and is just a short five minute or so walk up the hill.

Portscatho walks

Cornwall The South West Coast Path passes right through the centre of Portscatho so whichever way you decide to walk, you can be guaranteed of a spectacular view of the coast. One of our favourites is the coastal walk to Nare Head with its magnificent views. Visit The South West Coastal Path website for more details of coastal walks.

Portscatho beaches

With Tatums beach in the centre of the village and Porthcurnick and Towan within a short distance of the village, Portscatho has a great choice of beaches. Porthcurnick offers a lovely swathe off fairly flat sand during low tide and is the perfect beach for a large game of beach football, cricket or rounders. With its gradual slope, there is a large area of shallow water which is perfect for children to play in safely.

Portscatho sailing

Small boats and dinghys may be launched in the harbour by prior arrangement which will give you access to the renowned sailing waters of the Fal Estuary and south coast of Cornwall.
