St Just in Roseland is famous for its 13th-century church set in riverside gardens luxuriantly planted with semitropical shrubs and trees, many of which are species rare in England.A legend says that Joseph of Arimathea may have brought Jesus ashore here. Whether that is true or not, many people do feel the presence of God here today, just as people have through the centuries. The church perches on the edge of a tidal creek beside the Carrick Roads on the Fal Estuary just outside the main village. The path from the road to the church is lined with granite blocks carved with quotations and verses taken from the Bible. The Church attracts numerous visitors each year and has recently been subject to a restoration to replace large sections of the roof that had become structurally unsound.Next to the Church is Pascoe’s Boatyard. This boatyard has been in existence since the 18th century.St Just in Roseland lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which has the same status and protection as a National Park.St Just is 6 Miles or 10 Kilometres from Truro by ferry and 2 Miles or 3 Kilometres from St Mawes and 3 miles or 5 Kilometres from Portscatho/Gerrans.If you are planning a Wedding at the Church please contact us as we have a great selection of properties in St Mawes and Portscatho with easy access to St Just in Roseland.
