SAILING IN ST MAWES

St Mawes is justly famed for the quality of its sailing waters, and attracts the boating fraternity from far and wide being placed on the edge of the impressive Fal estuary.

Yachtsmen are well catered for with two boatyards which, along with the St Mawes Harbourmaster, are able to rent out moorings to visitors.

The very active St Mawes Sailing Club welcomes all sailors to its well positioned clubhouse in the centre of the village, where it has magnificent views of the harbour, a well stocked bar and shower facilities for members and visiting sailors. The club runs a very popular Junior Sail Training scheme, but you have to book early to be certain of a place.

Small boats and dinghies may be hired via Gawain Bysouth and Bob Warren (Roseland Paddle and Sail), both of whom are able to offer sailing lessons.

Kayak hire is available from the harbour from Sit-on Kayaks.

St Mawes Mini Cruises and Water Taxi hire for trips around Falmouth bay and up river as far as Truro.

If you fancy a different type of water experience why not try "real fishing trips" with Gareth Austin who fishes out of St Mawes.
