A great house in a fantastic location

"We stayed at Apsley for 5 nights over the Easter Bank holiday. The cottage is in a fabulous location, right in the centre of the village. There is a parking space right outside which is handy as parking in the village is very limited. The cottage itself is comfortable, there is a lovely light and bright dining area and little courtyard behind. The front garden, although small is enclosed and lovely to sit out and enjoy a drink whilst you watch the comings and goings of Portscatho. Upstairs are 3 decent size bedrooms with comfortable beds. One bedroom had a slightly tricky step if you had little ones, the room opens directly onto the staircase, there is no landing. We put a lamp out on the hallway in case one of our children got up in the night so they could see the steps. Portscatho has a lovely range of places to eat and drink and of course a beach. We spent 2 days of our holiday not leaving the village which is unusual for us as we like to explore, however it was blissful not to need to take the car anywhere for a change. Between the shop, the restaurants, the cottage and the beach, our family of 5 was well entertained for the entire day. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to return soon."

Happy stay

"A delightful few days at Apsley Cottage. Great to visit Cornwall in low season. The cottage is old fashioned, imagine visiting the home of an elderly aunt, but it had everything we needed and it was cosy. The bathroom is downstairs and the staircase is challenging as it's steep ,so possibly not suitable for young children or anyone with an infirmity. The bedroom curtains needed updating, difficult to close and didn't keep the light out. The position of the cottage is great, over the road from the excellent pub and village shop, and very close to the sea."

Thank you for your feedback, I am glad you enjoyed the central location of the property. Old properties sometimes have restrictions on space, this character is enjoyed by the majority of our guests. I will of course pass your comments onto the owner. Portscatho is a lovely place to base yourself out of season for walking the coastal path or vising the surrounding area.

A comfy and cosy cottage in the heart of Portscatho.

"We stayed in Apsley Cottage for a May weekend. The location is great being a very short walk from the harbour, pub, cafe, shops and galleries. The cottage was comfortable and well provided for. Would definitely recommend."
