Lovely peacefull location
"The lodge was clean and had all I needed for a week self catering. It's position is lovely looking down the site with views of the sea in the distance. Use of the pool, (no chlorine) jacuzzi and sauna was great. There are leaflets with lovely walks that start from the site, plenty of books, some games and leaflets of things to do during your stay in Cornwall. We had a lovely week and I would certainly book again. The lodge doesn't have use of wifi but you can get free wifi at the cafe at reception when it is open. I would say as we were out for most of the day it would have been useful to have wifi out of reception hours to get info for our stay in Cornwall. I would recommend Carrick lodge."
"Starting on a negative note, the lodge wasn't particularly well cleaned this time. We found several items belonging to previous occupants behind doors and under beds, dust on the TV shelves and debris under the coffee table, but most noticeably the recycling bins still contained previous occupant's empties. The DVD player didn't work and investigation revealed no SCART lead, so we used the video player's lead, which means now the video player won't work. The dish washer door appears to not shut properly although it didn't leak. Settees are not very comfortable and could benefit from a few bigger cushions. Single beds are also pretty rough. Positives, kitchen is well equipped. Bathrooms were all clean and functional. Decking and outside furniture are great. Our second visit in two years. We love the lodge, its location and view and see ourselves returning. Just improving on these small points would make our future visits even more enjoyable. "
Fantastic short stay away, very good value.
"We did a late minute booking at this property. It had everything we needed for 10 days away during Easter holidays with the children (4 and 5yrs). It has an indoor pool facility within 50m free of charge, great for the kids on a wet day. On a good day, Towan beach is a 10min walk and AMAZING!!, in the other direction is Portscatho, providing a great little shop (great wine selection) and a fantastic tea shop. "
