Ketch has stunning sea views of Portscatho harbour and Gerrans Bay. On a clear day you can see as far as Rame Head, and at night you can often see the light flashing on the Eddystone lighthouse.
A short flight of steps lead up to the front door of this centrally placed apartment, giving access to the hall. The good sized lounge/dining room has extensive water views of the village harbour and Gerrans Bay, and has TV, DVD.
There are super sea views from the kitchen/diner with equipment that includes an electric oven and hob, fridge, washer/dryer and a microwave oven.
The family bathroom has an over bath shower, WC and wash hand basin.
The double bedroom with a built in wardrobe has good views of the village and harbour. The second bedroom is a very good sized twin bedroom which has a sink.
Ketch has an allocated area in the garden, with a table and chairs to take advantage of the sea view.
Ketch is heated by space and panel heaters.
There is a parking space for one car at the rear of the property which is accessed via North Parade.
The most stunning view over Gerrans Bay and really good access to the village and coastal path.
"Ketch is situated in a prime location with stunning views of the bay and out to sea. As such it would be highly recommended, however the property is sadly in need of a makeover. The heating is limited to electrical radiators which are not terribly efficient. The property is draughty (especially the front door) as there is no double glazing and there is a problem with condensation. I imagine that this would be a real problem over the winter months. The kitchen is adequate but the crockery and cutlery are very old and some is stained. The main bedroom is comfortable with a good bed but the twin room beds are not so and there were no mattress protectors on them. There is no Wi-Fi. The bathroom is cold as there is no heating apart from a heated towel rail. The shower is good but the bath is slippery and there is no bath mat. I would not recommend for an older person - even my 19 year old son thought it was dangerous! Access to parking is fine if you are fit and able but I should imagine very inconvenient for an older, less mobile guest. We enjoyed our stay simply for the views and easy access to the village but felt that this property deserves better care."
"Ketch was in a lovely position with fabulous views. Loading and unloading wasn't easy as only way in is from the back of the house and there are a lot of steps up the front. About 50. So a parking spot at the back of the house would be pleasanter! Mainly the comfort of the apartment was very good. The main problem if any was that the kitchen utensils etc needed a good clean and possibly some extra money spent. Also the tv wouldnt work. A couple of windows had cracks in. But it was a great position for walks and shops etc. Stunning view from the windows"
Thank you for your feedback, I will look into the kitchen utensils. The view are stunning over the bay.
House was fine but not quite up to the high standard I'm use to in Portscatho
"Information on house bit misleading, Short flight of step! Yes from back main rd but from parking space and rs to beaches it's 50 steps. Advertising a tumble dryer/washer dryer but there isn't one. Few other problems which I'll email about. "
"This is the third time we have been to the property and we would highly recommend it. It is dog friendly and has everything you require. The view from the windows are stunning. we have just had the best fortnight."
Everything was excellent
"We have stayed here on a number of occasions and have always found the accommodation to be excellent, with wonderful views of the bay and village. There are good facilities locally, including a pub, restaurant and general store. I am sure we will be back for another great holiday."
"Access to the property needs to be more clearly explained. The information file needs updating. The garden needs attention."
