Lovely old cottage but living area needs brightening up.
"The cottage was situated in a very good location near to the quay and shops. It was spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was really powerful. The kitchen was well equipped. However, we didn't like the inflexibility of the electric heating system. Some evening were quite chilly but you couldn't just turn it on. Also the boiler made a terrible noise about 4am every morning which woke me up. The sofas were not very comfortable. They were quite small and if there had been 4 of us in the cottage it would have been a bit of a squeeze. The soft furnishings in the living room were a dreary grey which on overcast days when there is not much light in the room can be quite depressing. Also I wasn't very keen on the coir carpet in the bedrooms."
Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately St Mawes does not have the luxury of having gas to the village so most of the houses rely on storage heaters which as you say is not instant. During the winter months we turn these on prior to the guest arrival, but in the summer it is difficult to gauge the weather. All the houses are decorated to the owners taste and they have to take into consideration rental usage and wear as well as the colour combination. I am really pleased that you enjoyed the location of the cottage in the centre of St Mawes
"Great place and lovely location. Only one gripe, the WIFI is awful and should be mentioned on the details, were in part on holiday and also on business so WIFI was essential, to have the signal extended from across the road seems strange and given the cost of the property to rent we were not happy with the signal. A caretaker came out but in fairness there was nothing they could do but grateful for the quick response. I feel that WIFI is a basic requirement and should be addressed or just stated on the details. Other than that we had a lovely stay. Many thanks Mark"
