Ticks all the boxes!
"Perfect week at The Old Forge.Ideal location for exploring the immediate area and beyond. It was great to experience the hustle and bustle of the popular tourist attractions and spots and then return to the tranquility of Ruan Lanihorne. The Old Forge has been creatively designed to provide a comfortable and quirky living space. Everything you need for a relaxing stay is here, from inside comfort to outside enjoyment. Superb collection of tourist books, maps and pamphlets and useful Property Folder with instructions and helpful information to answer any questions about the house and anything else you might need to know. The honeysuckle was in full bloom and made the patio a lovely place to be. A pint of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits was thoughtfully provided as a welcome gesture. Non-doggy people need not worry about staying here,no trace of previous doggy visitors exists. We'd definitely stay here again."
Dog friendly cottage
"In a very pleasant village with easy dog walks on hand. Very well planned conversation & comfortable. Good location Although it was basically clean & tidy, I think it suffers slightly from the "hands off" approach as the pans had not been washed properly, the stove had not been cleaned out, and the garden furniture was very dirty. Whilst we were there we did also report a constant drip drip in the septic tank (it sounded like tom toms being payed) which did slightly spoil the rural tranquillity when sitting in the garden. But overall we really enjoyed our stay."
Thank you for your comments, we are please to hear you enjoyed your stay. We have a great team of housekeepers and ask that our guests leave the property the way it was found, despite this occasionally things can get missed and apologies that in this case it happened to be before your stay. We hope to see you again soon.
Sweet cottage, great holiday home.
"The Old Forge is a well-equipped little cottage in a tiny hamlet in the heart of the Roseland. There's everything you need, a modern kitchen with cooker, fridge and washer/dryer and a shower room & toilet. The double bed is really comfortable and there is plenty of storage for your clothes. Upstairs, a little sitting room with TV, and a good sofa-bed. The village is tiny, with no shop, so take some supplies! Beautiful walks in all directions, lots of wildlife to spot and beaches a short drive away. It's only a short drive to Truro, Heligan, Falmouth and all the rest of Cornwall. A lovely place to stay if you want to be away from the busy 'tourist' areas."
A lovely stay in a cosey cottage
"We had a lovely week. The cottage was clean, comfortable and cosey. The kitchen was extremely well equipped making our self catering experience extememly easy. The location was so peaceful and its such a cute place. Only tricky thing we had was lighting the log fire, we found this quite hard to get going despite trying many different techniques , we had to plump for cheating logs in the end but it kept us warm. Thank you for a lovely stay :) We would come back"
