This nicely renovated, traditional Cornish cottage is well situated in the village of Portscatho being only seconds away from the square with its good selection of facilities. There are lovely coastal walks nearby and beaches are within easy reach-Tatum's beach one minute's walk and Porthcurnick beach, with its good expanse of sand, about ten minutes walk. The hall with slated floor leads into the spacious kitchen/diner that has patio doors out to the large courtyard. The kitchen is well equipped with double electric oven, ceramic hob, under counter fridge and under counter freezer side by side also a wine cooler and Belfast sink. There is a small utility behind double doors that houses a further sink and a dishwasher.
The main utility contains the washing machine, and leads through to a shower room with WC and wash hand basin.
The lounge has a nice range of easy furniture with TV, DVD, views of the village square and sea views to Gull Rock and beyond.
A cosy snug (ideal for the adult members of your party) has easy chairs and a wood burner (fuel available from the convenience shop in the square).
Stairs lead up to the first floor with a double bedroom and two twin rooms one of which has sea views. The bedrooms have wall pegs for the hanging of clothes.
The family bathroom has a shower, WC and wash hand basin.
The suntrap, south facing, courtyard has garden furniture and a barbecue and is a super spot to relax.
Ty Gwyn has the benefit of night storage heaters and has on road parking for one car outside the entrance gate(please ensure that you do not obstruct any passing traffic). A telephone and broadband are available. There is further parking in the village square and in the main car park about 5 minutes walk away.
Lovely cottage in village location, some road noise
"I really enjoyed staying at Ty Gwyn. We had amazing weather and it was a great base from which to explore the Roseland Peninsular and a lovely village to return to with a very convenient and well stocked local store close by. The one small drawback is that the cottage is very close to the road which provides access to the village square and it was therefore noticeable that there was traffic noise especially in the early morning."
Thank you for your feedback. The house is very central and allows you to enjoy the village life and have access to the coastal paths.
Very Pleasant stay
"A lovely week. A very well situated property . One minute's walk to the excellent pub and very well stocked little supermarket and butchers shop. The property is spacious with well equipped kitchen, 3 decent sized bedrooms and 2 good size bathrooms. Lots of games, books etc if you wanted them and super little outside area for meals and bbq. Overall a very good property."
Great place to stay
"We had a lovely stay at Ty Gwyn. The weather was mixed but the house is great - very warm and comfortable and when the sun did come out the courtyard garden is a sun trap. "
