With hundreds of beautiful beaches, miles of coastal cliffs and the South West Coast path winding its way around the entire coastline of the county, it’s not surprising to discover that Cornwall is the best destination in the UK to holiday with your four legged friend. A new campaign from tourist board site Visit Cornwall is promoting the county as the top dog friendly destination for your holidays this summer.
Dogs love Cornwall
Many return to Cornwall time and time again for their holidays for the dog friendly aspects of the county. Friendly and welcoming locals, delicious food and beautiful scenery are coupled with the fantastic choice of dog friendly Cornwall cottages – if you’re looking for the perfect UK self-catering destination, Cornwall really is the top choice!
Many dog owners hate to leave their dog behind when leaving for holiday, especially if a friend or relative isn’t able to dog-sit for them, forcing owners to put the dog into kennels. Cornwall is an easy destination to travel to from anywhere in the UK, and you just know your dog will absolutely love all the wide open spaces.
Using the hashtag #dogslovecornwall across social media, dog owners and holidaymakers can document their top tips and attractions that welcome dogs all across Cornwall, from beach cafes where there are doggy bowls to museums and open gardens that allow dogs.
Cornwall loves dogs
The spirit of outdoor life and the community love of Cornwall’s beautiful great outdoors naturally attract visitors to holiday in the county. It’s no secret that tourism is a lucrative industry for the area, and more and more businesses, attractions and companies offering South Cornwall holiday cottages are beginning to welcome dogs to the area. In fact, throughout the year, many villages and festivals that are dog friendly incorporate visitors’ dogs into the festivities. There are fun dog shows, cycle hire companies offer doggie carriages and plenty of beaches where dogs are more than welcome all year round – even during the height of summer.
