According to a recent poll, Cornwall has been voted as the most family-friendly destination in the world. Details of the poll results are listed in this article uncovering that Cornwall beaches beat the likes of Orlando, Menorca and Tenerife as the favourite family-friendly holiday destination with parents in the UK.
Cornwall is renowned for having the ‘full package’ when it comes to family holidays: the beautiful beaches are safe, clean and lifeguarded; the sub-tropical climate means that you get holiday weather without the long-haul flights; and the UK destination makes travel far more easy-going and far easier on your wallet!
It’s reported that parents in the survey confirmed how hard it is to find a destination where the children will be safe and have fun, along with older children and older family members. Staying in one of the lovely holiday cottages in South Cornwall is the perfect all-rounder holiday; the children will love the beautiful and safe beaches, and there are plenty of charming seaside towns to wander through, where you can sample a delicious cream tea or a pint of local ale. Even your dog will love a holiday to South Cornwall as many of the beaches and holiday cottages are dog-friendly.
It’s not difficult to see why so many families chose Cornwall as the ideal family holiday destination. The easy travel and beaches are, of course, a big draw, but there are also plenty of fantastic activities for the kids to do in Cornwall. From the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan to the Seal Sanctuary, Newquay Zoo and the Blue Reef Aquarium, there is a whole host of family-friendly attractions that children and adults will enjoy.
Another factor when planning a family holiday is what the kids will eat. With a huge range of choice from award-winning restaurants run by famous chefs to beachside cafes selling delicious fresh seafood, there’s sure to be something to tantalise even the fussiest of palates!
With more than 80 per cent of parents asked admitting that finding a child-friendly destination is the most important factor when booking a holiday, it’s clear to see why Cornwall came out tops as the best all round holiday destination.
