Falmouth Town Council has started to plan and prepare for next year’s Falmouth Tall Ships event, which will take place from 28th August to 31st August 2014.
The Falmouth to Royal Greenwich Tall Ships Regatta is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the area, meaningCornish holiday cottages and similar accommodation will be filled to the max.
The number of visitors also means a lot of organising and preparation will need to be made and Falmouth Town Council are inviting local organisations and businesses to create events and put on activities throughout the town to compliment the festival.
Richard Gates, Falmouth Town Manager and Chairman of the Tall Ships Town Working Group, told a local newspaper, “We aim to make Falmouth come alive with activity to compliment the great sights on the water', with plenty of activities planned for the event. After the success of the Olympic Torch Relay day in Falmouth, which had a wonderful atmosphere and lots going on, planners of Tall Ships 2014 are hoping that the regatta will be just as successful.
